Thought of the day;

Self esteem, self image, self pity, self fulfilment, self agrandizement, self sufficient, self pride… notice a pattern?

When life becomes all about self everyone around looses value. Our kids, our spouse, our friends. People simply become a means to an end or an obstacle to get around. And that end is all about self. Revenge is all about self. Lust is all about self. Greed is all about self.

Ever meet the person who always has a better story? Or the person who blames others for their bad actions? How about those who need to be the center of attention? When children and spouses have to compete with a cellphone or a video game or even a substance for attention is it any wonder the family is failing.

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conciet but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for your own interests, but also for the interest of others” Phi. 2:3-4

P.S. The obsession with selfies drivers me nuts.
